a bugfix release of PDFsam Basic 6.0.6 is out.

The PDF engine can now read streams compressed with Brotli. The PDF Association published an official industry specification on August 19, 2026, adding Brotli compression as a new standard filter BrotliDecode for the PDF 2.0 format. PDFsam Basic can now decode and read PDF files using it.

We also fixed the dialogs not following the application window when moved to a second monitor, they now open on the same screen as PDFsam.

Also in this release:

• Fixed #515: control characters in bookmark titles, like newlines or tabs, no longer end up in the file names when splitting by bookmarks
• Fixed #265: [BASENAME] can now be used alone as the output prefix in Extract
• Fixed #253: better handling of malformed XMP metadata values
• Added the Armenian translation
• Upgraded dependencies and updated translations

Hello,
a bugfix release of PDFsam Basic 6.0.5 is out.

We fixed the UNCOMPRESS output option failing to save some PDF files. It happened when a stream’s filter list combined a compression filter with an image filter that can’t be re-encoded, such as JBIG2, DCT (JPEG) or JPX (JPEG 2000). Those streams are now left untouched instead of breaking the save.

Also in this release:

• Fixed #856: improved dark theme contrast for tooltips, help text and log/error messages
• Refactored the logging system so heavy logging doesn’t slow down the UI
• Upgraded to JDK 25.0.4 and JavaFX 25.0.4
• Updated translations

the new version 7.0.1 of PDFsam Visual is out. This is a major update with two new tools, a refreshed engine and a long list of fixes.

Clean PDF pages and edit metadata

We added Clean PDF, a new task that removes metadata, XMP metadata and annotations from your PDF files in bulk. It’s a quick way to strip out information you don’t want to share before sending a document out.

Alongside it, a new Edit metadata task lets you modify a document’s properties, such as title and author, directly from the app.

the new PDFsam Basic 4.3.3 is out. We upgraded the bundled JDK using the latest 11.0.16, the PDF engine to include some fixes and we improved the loading of csv files containing the input list.
