PDFsam Basic 6.0.0 is out!

Hello,
PDFsam Basic 6.0.0 is here. This is a major version release, bringing new major versions of both SAMBox and Sejda, the libraries that make up the PDF engine used in PDFsam Basic.

PDFsam Basic 6 now handles a wider range of problematic PDFs more gracefully, files with malformed annotations, invalid color spaces, broken font dictionaries, or corrupted metadata that used to cause issues should now work correctly. PDF 2.0 files using UTF-8 encoded strings are also properly supported. Output files now always contain an XMP metadata stream kept in sync with the document information dictionary, which is deprecated in PDF 2.0 in favor of XMP.

On the usability side, you can now drag and drop a folder onto the output field and PDFsam will automatically suggest an output file path inside that folder. Output compression has also changed, instead of a simple on/off toggle you can now choose between Compress, Neutral and Uncompress.

The application has been upgraded to JDK 25 and JavaFX 25 and we’ve added accessible text and proper label associations throughout the interface to improve screen reader support.

Download PDFsam Basic 6.0.0 and enjoy!
