a bugfix release of PDFsam Basic 6.0.6 is out.
The PDF engine can now read streams compressed with Brotli. The PDF Association published an official industry specification on August 19, 2026, adding Brotli compression as a new standard filter BrotliDecode for the PDF 2.0 format. PDFsam Basic can now decode and read PDF files using it.
We also fixed the dialogs not following the application window when moved to a second monitor, they now open on the same screen as PDFsam.
Also in this release:
- Fixed #515: control characters in bookmark titles, like newlines or tabs, no longer end up in the file names when splitting by bookmarks
- Fixed #265:
[BASENAME]can now be used alone as the output prefix in Extract - Fixed #253: better handling of malformed XMP metadata values
- Added the Armenian translation
- Upgraded dependencies and updated translations
