Hello,
a bugfix release of PDFsam Basic 6.0.8 is out.
This release ships with JDK 25.0.5.0.3, which fixes CVE-2026-114820
We also updated the PDF engine to Sejda 6.0.0.M8 and SAMBox 4.0.0.M9. They bring several fixes in how PDF files are read and written. The most relevant one is about the split task where outputs could lose some changes, like unused fonts removed by compression, when pages share objects stored in the same object stream.
Also in this release:
- Fixed #663: lists of PDF files with non-Latin characters in their paths, like Chinese, are now loaded correctly
- Fixed document metadata being lost when loading encrypted PDFs with compressed metadata
- Fixed corrupted content when decoding ASCII85 and ASCIIHex encoded streams
- Fixed content that was ignored after stray
),]or>characters in a page content stream - A CropBox with zero or negative width or height now falls back to the MediaBox, as other PDF readers do
- Errors that happen while the output file is being written are now reported instead of being lost
- Upgraded to JavaFX 25.0.5 and updated dependencies
